Contest!! Win FREE TaxCut Tax Software

Hi everybody,

Done your taxes yet?  Thanks to the generosity of John at TaxCut I've got a coupon for a FREE TaxCut Premium (including free e-file), which I'm told is worth about $75.  I quite literally filed my own taxes about 6 hours before I got John's gift, so my loss is your gain.

Here's the game.  If you want a shot at some free tax software, comment on this post and tell me the following:

  1. How long is your commute?
  2. How do you get there (car, train, walk, bicycle)?
  3. How do you occupy your time?  Listen to the radio, read the paper, play Sudoku?

I'll pick from the responses received by the end of the day on Sunday April 1 (4/1/2007) and announce the winner on Monday, 4/2/2007.  Make sure that your comment has some way for me to contact you if you win!

Good luck!

Duane,

I figured I'd throw my name into the hat for a free giveaway:-)

My commute is about 15 minutes, and since I carpool, I end up driving every other week.

When I drive, I usually listen to our local talk radio station, but lately I've started listening to one of the local "morning shows". It's absolutely hilarious and is a good way to "wake up" in the mornings.

When I'm a passenger, I like to read a paper (if I have one) or eat a bite for breakfast. If I had a laptop (mine was stolen) I'd catch up on some work or some blogging. When I get a new one, I imagine those things will be added to my choices in the morning.

But since I'm not a morning person, I really just like to sit back and listen to talk radio (catch up breaking news) and relax.

BTW, what's the deal with sudoku? I feel like I'm missing out on something :-)

PS - you should still have my email address :-)

My commute is about 8 minutes (10 minutes if there is a red light), but therefore I have a less than 1000 square foot house in Newton. I was told by my plumber that I basically bought the land, the house isn't worth anything. Nice!

It is totally worth it to be able to rush home to my kids at the drop of a hat if they need me. The sacrifice is that I hear the fire trucks going to the Masspike "accident of the day" every morning .

On my short commute, I listen to (believe it or not) the local Hip Hop station because they are always pulling a crank phone at that time, and I think it is hilarious. As a bonus, they used to run the "blond star" commercial which made me almost hit a telephone pole one day.

I have not done my taxes yet, and would really, really appreciate the tax software. (shameless plug)

I think you know where to find me.
